GWJ #82: Unseen - Post-Jam update


Hello and thanks for playing Illusory Connect. I've been working on addressing some issues based on player feedback in GWJ #82 last few days, here is the breakdown:

Major changes:

  1. Added tutorial levels (1 and 2).
  2. Made the color of the active item shape in the upper grid more easily distinguishable from already placed ones. Green = valid placement, Red = invalid placement, Black = placed. I believe this should make it easier to understand the relationship between the top and bottom grid.
  3. There are now 7 levels including tutorials.
  4. Made the game area darker so the colors green and red pop better.

Bug fixes:

  1. Fixed path search not wrapping correctly on the horizontal edges, causing doors being counted as connected even though there is no continuous path *between* them.
  2. Fixed pause menu not actually pausing the game.


Non-critical improvements I probably won't do because I want to move on:

  1. Make the item snap better on the grid. I got the grid-based inventory system algorithm from somewhere in the internet and basically didn't improve it much :D.
  2. Flesh out a bit of story about the interdimensional detective theme I had in mind but I got lazy cause I'm addicted to the horse girl game :D
